HTTP 409 · Do not retry unchanged — fix the request first

The requested format version is not currently executable.

What happened

A new operation must name the active version valid for the current public contract. A historical version only permits an exact, proven replay of an already accepted mutation. No input has been executed when this check fails.

How to fix it

• Read /v1/capabilities, inspect the active version and test your mapping before sending another request.
• For an earlier business command, keep its external_order_id or idempotency_key and read the canonical order or command result first. Changing a format version must never create a new business identity.

Retrying

Repeating the request unchanged will fail again. Correct the request first — the response tells you which part is wrong.
