§ 1 What this covers

This refund policy describes when payments for Meykt are refunded and when they are not. It applies to all paid services: subscriptions to the Basic, Pro and Business plans, bookable add-ons, and one-off prepaid packs for jobs and credits.

The core in one sentence: fees already paid are generally not refunded — in return, a complete free trial is available before any purchase, and in the cases listed in § 9 money is of course returned.

Service Refund after payment What applies instead
Subscription, monthly No Cancellable at the end of the paid month; fully usable until then
Subscription, annual No, not even pro rata Cancellable at the end of the paid billing year; fully usable until then
Add-ons No Can be reduced from the next billing period
Prepaid packs (jobs, credits) No, not even for unused balances Credits never expire and stay usable indefinitely
Free trial Not applicable — nothing is charged Ends automatically, with no charge and no cancellation needed

The Terms of Service apply in addition. In the event of any conflict between this page and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service prevail.

§ 2 Who sells and who refunds

(1) The Meykt platform is provided by Dumanu GmbH, Beethovenstr. 120 C, 42655 Solingen, Germany.

(2) Paid services are billed through Paddle. Paddle acts as the seller (merchant of record): the purchase contract for the paid subscription is concluded with Paddle, Paddle issues the invoice and states the applicable VAT.

(3) Refunds are therefore processed by Paddle. A request may be sent either to Dumanu GmbH or directly to Paddle; the two coordinate with each other. Paddle additionally reviews requests under its own buyer terms and may grant a refund at its own discretion. Where Paddle or mandatory law grants the customer rights that go beyond what this page describes, those wider rights always apply.

§ 3 Who Meykt is for

(1) Meykt is intended exclusively for entrepreneurs within the meaning of § 14 of the German Civil Code (BGB), companies, freelancers and organisations acting in a professional capacity. Consumers within the meaning of § 13 BGB are not entitled to use Meykt (§ 2 (2) of the Terms of Service).

(2) A consumer right of withdrawal therefore does not normally apply. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected: should a consumer nevertheless purchase in an individual case, the statutory rights of withdrawal and Paddle's buyer terms apply.

(3) Warranty and liability claims are governed by the Terms of Service and are not affected by this policy.

§ 4 Try it free before you buy

(1) Before any purchase, a 14-day trial with the full feature set of the Business plan is available. It requires no payment details.

(2) The trial ends automatically. Nothing is charged, no subscription is created, and no cancellation is needed — the account then falls back to the free Community plan and remains in place.

(3) Because no voluntary refund is granted after a payment, the trial is the intended way to evaluate Meykt without financial risk. To discuss a specific use case beforehand, a demo can also be booked. Plans and their scope are set out in detail on the pricing page.

§ 5 Subscriptions

(1) Subscriptions are paid in advance, either monthly or annually, as chosen by the customer.

(2) Fees already paid are not refunded — neither in full nor pro rata. This applies in particular to early cancellation, to non-use or limited use during the paid period, and to a cancellation shortly after a payment or renewal.

(3) A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current, already paid billing period. Until then the booked plan remains fully usable; afterwards the account falls back to the free Community plan. No further charge is made.

(4) A downgrade to a lower plan likewise takes effect at the end of the current billing period. The price difference for the period already paid is neither paid out nor credited.

(5) If an upgrade to a higher plan is made during a running period, Paddle bills the difference on the terms shown at the time of the change.

§ 6 Annual subscriptions

(1) Where payment is annual, there is no entitlement to a pro rata refund of unused months if the subscription is cancelled during the term. Access remains in place until the end of the paid billing year.

(2) The lower annual price is the consideration for committing to the full term. Customers who wish to remain flexible should choose monthly billing.

§ 7 Add-ons

(1) Add-ons extend the allowances of a subscription (for example additional machines, team members, connections or storage). They are billed as ongoing line items of the same subscription.

(2) The same rules apply to them as to the subscription itself (§ 5): no refund of fees already paid. Reducing or removing an add-on takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

§ 8 Prepaid packs (jobs and credits)

(1) Prepaid packs are one-off purchases. The included allowance is credited to the account immediately after payment and is available straight away.

(2) Prepaid allowances do not expire. They have no expiry date, do not lapse at the end of a month or year, and are retained when the plan changes. They remain available for as long as the account exists.

(3) Prepaid packs are neither refunded nor paid out — not even for allowances that are entirely unused. The reason: the allowance remains permanently usable, so nothing is lost.

(4) Prepaid allowances are tied to the organisation they were purchased for. They cannot be transferred to another organisation and cannot be exchanged for money.

§ 9 When money is refunded anyway

(1) Irrespective of the rules above, a refund is arranged where a payment should not have been taken in that form. This concerns in particular:

  • a double or multiple charge for the same service;
  • a charge taken after an effective cancellation, or a renewal despite timely cancellation;
  • a charge for the wrong amount or the wrong plan;
  • a payment initiated through the customer's payment method without authorisation, following review of the transaction;
  • a service that, for reasons attributable to Dumanu GmbH, is permanently not provided for the paid period — for example if the service is discontinued or the subscription is terminated by Dumanu GmbH by ordinary notice; in that case the portion attributable to the period not provided is refunded;
  • mandatory statutory claims, in particular under warranty.

(2) Beyond that, a refund may be granted as a gesture of goodwill in an individual case. Such a decision is made without acknowledgement of any legal obligation and creates no entitlement in comparable future cases.

(3) Short-term disruptions, announced maintenance windows and the usual fluctuations in availability are not grounds for a refund; the provisions on availability, warranty and liability in the Terms of Service apply to these. Likewise, changing, discontinuing or reassigning individual features to a different plan is not a ground for a refund (§ 12 (4) of the Terms of Service); where such a change substantially restricts the essential core of the plan booked, an extraordinary right of termination applies under that provision.

§ 10 Requesting a refund

(1) Refunds are requested by email to info@meykt.com. The following details are helpful:

  • name of the organisation and email address of the account;
  • invoice number or Paddle transaction ID (shown in the invoice email);
  • date and amount of the payment;
  • reason for the request.

(2) Requests are usually answered within five business days.

(3) Approved refunds are returned through Paddle to the payment method originally used. Depending on the bank or payment provider, it may take a few business days for the credit to appear on the account or card statement. Payment in cash, to a different account, or as platform credit is not possible.

§ 11 Cancelling

(1) A subscription can be cancelled at any time in the account under "Settings → Billing". Paddle's customer portal is available as an alternative; a link to it is included in every invoice email.

(2) The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current, already paid billing period. No further charge is made after that.

(3) After the contract ends, platform data remains available for export for a retention period of 30 days (§ 13 of the Terms of Service). Own backups should be created in good time before the contract ends.

§ 12 Chargebacks

(1) In the case of an unclear or unexpected charge, Dumanu GmbH or Paddle should be contacted first. Most cases can be resolved this way within a few days — considerably faster than through a bank chargeback procedure.

(2) If a chargeback is initiated instead without prior clarification, access to the platform may be suspended until the transaction has been clarified. Where a chargeback is justified, the customer suffers no disadvantage.

§ 13 Changes to this policy

(1) This refund policy may be amended, for example where services, billing models or legal requirements change. The version published at the time of the respective purchase is the one that applies. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page.

(2) This policy does not limit any mandatory statutory rights of the customer.

Questions about invoices, cancellations or refunds are answered by Dumanu GmbH at info@meykt.com.
